Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide and improve products and services for clients are:

  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

  • MEYE Finance relies on legitimate interests as a lawful basis for processing. We collect only the minimum personal information needed to understand each client’s requirements and preferences, so that we can connect them with the most suitable adviser, broker, accountant, or legal representative. This use of data benefits both our clients and our business and does not create any undue risk or harm. All data protection rights continue to apply, with the exception of the right to data portability.

How long we keep information

MEYE Finance acts as an intermediary and only retains personal information for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Typically, this means keeping your details just long enough to introduce you to the appropriate adviser, broker, accountant, or legal representative, and to request feedback on your experience.

We do not retain personal information for longer than is necessary. In most cases, your information will be securely deleted within 6 months of our last meaningful contact with you, and in all cases no later than 12 months from the date of first contact.

Where we are required by law or regulation to keep certain records for longer (for example, for resolving complaints or demonstrating compliance), we will do so in line with those obligations. After the retention period has passed, all personal information will be securely deleted or anonymised.
